Savannah Rapids Park

Baby on the Way?

Bet I peaked your interest with that title?! Read on to see why! Not so much to share on our end this week. Pretty much the same routine with park, play with friends, and hang out at the house. Guess all of that on a daily basis is enough to keep me tired come night time!   We actually took the boys to eat Friday night and made it through a meal with out having to ask for it to be packed to go! None the less it was on the patio at Chili's, but maybe we are making progress! We then drove Daddy around to see some of the parks where we play and finished the night off with a trip to Walmart. We bought several things that were not needed, but one purchase Mark assured me they NEEDED: a camo polo!! We figured both grandparents would be proud! ;) I told Mark he would need a good job just to support Bently's hobbies.

Saturday we went to Savannah Rapids Park. It is an absolute beauty in my opinion. Just natural features that make up this world amaze me. Friends came over Saturday night to eat and it was chaos, but when is dinner with 5 kids not? Sunday we managed to finally get the area ready to start a fall garden. We have never had a garden, but have wanted one for a good while now. We figure if we are here for 3-4 years, now is a great time! We also added in a peach and lime tree. Here's to finding my green thumb.

Enough about us...we have an exciting week ahead! Baby Nolan will make his grand entrance this week! We can't wait to see this sweet new cousin and are hating we are missing out also. It's hard, but not possible to run back and forth like I wish I could for things like this and special birthdays. We will be waiting anxiously for pictures! AND last Thursday night we received a text that another cousin will be here next March! Babies, babies everywhere with so much love to give! It think my boys have baby fever, but I tell them no more until Anderson gets potty trained! Anderson carries around the baby book that was intended for Bently. When he looks at the pictures, he makes a crying noise like a baby. In reality, he still cries a ton himself! When asked what Bently would do with a baby, he said rock and feed it. Sounds like I may have it made the next go around! ;)

Love to all and for those in Louisiana, stay safe this week with the weather that is headed your way!

Some of our GHSU friends at story time.

Yep, hand in hand, I could eat these two up!

Not often that we get alone time to have fun. But I sure enjoyed this time!

Showed him how to sort one afternoon.

Just need the plants!

A new, ready for school, haircut!

Oh Happy Day!

Mondays are usually no big deal for me; however, today has been different! Neither child took a nap and both are going through a not minding stage. To say the least, I will be headed out the door for a run the minute Mark gets home!! ;) As you know, parenting is not easy and I am trying so hard to be stern with my boys and teach right from wrong, but I can't seem to get through to them. It's tough, but I refuse to give in and let them get away with whatever. Guess they are both hitting the "2" stage and I get it 24/7 rather than some day care teacher! Enough venting...they are both healthy, cute, full of energy and love, and MINE! I always have to remember that God didn't promise life would be easy, but rather that he would always be here with us! A pretty awesome promise if you ask me and I rely on him so much. Several friends and family have been going through some difficult times right now and I find comfort in knowing he hears our prayers.

My favorite conversation from Bently happened few days ago when Anderson woke from his nap, came downstairs, and Bently says to him "Did you have a good nap? Do you want a snack? We have water, a bar (AdvoCare)?" I mean, really, how sweet is that?

As far as Anderson, he is saying"BBBB...Bently!" He seems to be more concerned over his brother's name rather than his!

Augusta offers so much that is FREE! Yes, I love hearing that right now with me trying to keep them busy each day and we seem to go stir crazy when we stay at home all day. We had hoped to go to a free outdoor concert last Friday at the park, but Mark was late and rain made its way here just in time. So we had a sandwich at home and were all asleep before 10pm! Saturday we went back to our market and Bently devoured a homemade cinnamon roll while Mark had a fried fish sandwich! I tasted each and approved. ;) Afterwards, we went to a swamp park with friends. It was just that a SWAMP with mossy trees, cattails, and humidity. Yep, just like Louisiana and something we are very familiar with. They are from northern Kentucky, so it was all very neat to them. They even think pine-straw in the flower beds are cool! We had fun and picnicked and headed home!

We are all looking forward to having visitors next week! It will be nice to see a familiar face and share some of our fun with them.

A little bit of LA can be found here!

Proud of his cinnamon roll!

Wondering where his next bite will come from!

Sweet Lacy finally shared.

Our food truck!

Always tears shed. Had to get it done because Lele isn't close anymore ;(

Not bad for a free haircut at JCPenney's!

Picnic time!

Poor Anderson's hugs are always a tackle ;)

They LOVE the park!

Snack time fun with Mommy while bubba was napping!

NAPTIME - Need I Say More!

And it's NAPTIME!!! A few minutes of peace and quiet and time to update this blog! We hope everyone reading this is having a fun week and finds something to be thankful for. We have been busy, busy and always so tired come nightfall. The rain finally stopped, but Mark got called in Sunday and worked majority of the day. However, when he got home that night, we managed to go out and get the storage building put together. To some, no big deal, but to us this was a HUGE deal. The garage has been full of yard/tool stuff, so one vehicle has been outside. We were so excited to finally have a home with a garage!Anyway...it's done, car in garage, and we are both happy!!

The boys and I visited another new church Sunday. I liked this one much better, but we're still visiting. Our friends showed us a new park Monday and we fell in love. It has a nice walking trail, playgrounds, splash pad, and a large pond with turtles (they have had plenty of bread from these two boys!) It happens to be right behind a nice library, so we made our first visit and read a few books. Anderson doesn't exactly have the best inside voice for the library, so they were short lived visits! ;) We play with our new friends just about daily. It's very nice to be surrounded by families with the same schedule...they are always free and wanting to help pass time also!

Bently loves taking pictures!
Forgot his book!
Family fun before bed one night!

Bently and Lacy reading!
Making a card for someone special!

Feeding the ducks.

If I haven't mentioned, Bently is an awesome big brother. Such a helper and great encourager to Anderson. Anderson has matured a lot and loves to do what Bently does as long as it includes his paci and blankets! Bently has been talking about a sister. (Nope, no babies on the way here!) but I had to break it to him that he very well could have another brother. His response, "Anderson can have a brother and i'll have a sister." Funny how they think...love them to pieces. We are all great this way and couldn't be happier!

You've Got Mail...

The boys received mail yesterday and they were so HAPPY! I cut open the box and Bently had everything out in a matter of seconds. It put the biggest smile on his face. :) and when Anderson woke, he had a nice surprise too! The box was filled with LSU bandaids, PEZ, Batman crocs, hunting magazines, and a new cell phone (or so Bently thinks!) When Nonnie called this morning, he didn't understand why she didn't call on his phone. If he only knew...but it's fun now that he doesn't. Thanks MaC and Pops for starting the weekend off with something FUN! We have had a ton of rain this week and can't wait for a break so that we can enjoy weekends outside. Love to all..
