Ice Storm Pax

In the last post, I had hoped my Mom would've been here in two days...well that didn't happen. That Tuesday, we left school thinking we'd get a little ice and be on our way, not so much! We woke Wednesday with a freezing rain steadily coming down. We lost power from about 10-2 that day and I was fine. Never did I dream that things would get as bad as they did. That night about 9 we lost it again and didn't get it back until 10 Saturday night. Let's just say that those were some long days. The boys weren't phased too much the first day, so we stayed home and i bundled up and watched them play. About 4 we headed to the hospital to get dinner and play for a while. I brought them back home that night and we snuggled up good to stay warm. Friday morning when Mark got home we went to a friends to shower and clean up. I think we went to mall to hang out that day. Then decided to stay with friends that night. So much better. I was hopeful that Saturday morning we'd have power, but still no. :( We went and painted that morning, back to the mall to play, then to the hospital to play, and finally back to friends. When I got word we had power, the boys were already asleep so we stayed there. Finally Sunday morning we picked Mark up from the hospital and made our way back home. Rough, but thankful no more damage was done to our property than it was. We were out yesterday trying to break limbs and such to save for a camp out in a few weeks! Let's just say, I will be more prepared next time in having handy food ready and plenty of snacks for this crew!

So Mom, Emma, and Addy made it the following week. Grandparents Day and Valentine's Parties had been rescheduled to that week so it worked out nice. The boys loved having Addy here to play with and take care of. The visit went by way too fast and we can't wait to see them again. Mark had his test that Saturday and hopefully he did well. When we left Sunday morning for vacation, they left and headed home. A few things are still up in the air, but we may possibly make a trip to LA the second week of April.

During this time, little Benjamin went to be with Jesus. The family had a graveside service that Monday and it was very sweet...just as I know that little boys was. Chris and Mike seem to be doing well, but could still use prayers as I know they will certainly have their moments. Thank you to those that kept up with them on this journey.
